The colloquium “L’université au service du développement entrepreneurial” organized at École des Hautes Études Commerciales d’Alger brought together academics, startup ecosystem actors, incubators, institutions, and entrepreneurs around one central objective: strengthening the role of universities in building an entrepreneurial culture in Algeria.

Throughout the event, discussions explored several important themes including entrepreneurial education, university incubation, innovation transfer, digital transformation, AI, startup support mechanisms, and the evolution of the Algerian entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program combined keynote talks, panels, workshops, and startup testimonials, creating a space for dialogue between higher education and the innovation ecosystem.

A particularly impactful contribution came from Nesrine Ziad, graduate of EHEC and co-founder & Program Director at LEANCUBATOR. Her participation highlighted the growing importance of practical entrepreneurial support structures that connect students and young innovators with real opportunities for growth and market access.

As someone actively involved in startup ecosystem development, Nesrine Ziad brought a field-oriented perspective to the conversation, illustrating how incubation, mentorship, and ecosystem-building initiatives can help transform academic potential into impactful ventures. Her presence also reflected the success of EHEC alumni contributing directly to Algeria’s entrepreneurial transformation and inspiring the next generation of founders.

Her intervention added a valuable bridge between academia and practice, showing that entrepreneurial education is no longer limited to theory, but increasingly connected to concrete programs, startup acceleration, international collaboration, and ecosystem engagement.
